We look forward to providing you with a permanent hair removal option that will keep you feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin. Why should I choose laser hair removal?
Lasers are the one method that eliminates your hair so thoroughly that the results are typically permanent. With around six to eight treatments, you will be able to expose your skin without any worry about unsightly hairs and discomfort from shaving. Normal methods of hair removal allow the hair to grow back—sometimes within just a day. With laser hair removal, you no longer need to worry about this problem. Each session will leave you with less hair!
How does the laser remove the hair?
All laser hair removal systems work by emitting light in a certain way. The color in your hair follicle, or the pigment, absorbs this light without damaging the skin surrounding it. This light is then turned into heat which destroys the hair follicle. This leaves it unable to produce another hair.
Is laser hair removal safe?
Absolutely! You will experience a small pinching sensation as we move along your hairs, but many people report that this sensation is only slightly uncomfortable and brief. We are sure you will find that laser hair removal is much more comfortable than either tweezing or waxing!
Where can I have laser hair removal done on my body?
Just about everywhere! Feel free to ask if you have questions about the areas we can treat. We specifically offer the following:
X-Small: Includes lip, chin, cheeks, neck, and underarms
Small: Includes lower arm, upper arm, shoulders, checks, stomach, and bikini (sides)
Medium: Includes lower legs, upper leg, lower back, upper back, and thong area
Large: Includes full back, full leg, and Brazilian
Prices vary depending on the size.
Am I a good candidate for laser hair removal?
Some people are better candidates than others for laser hair removal. We see the most success with people who have light skin and coarse, dark hair. However, we can still see wonderful results when it comes to those with blonde, red, or light brown hair. Feel free to meet with us and find out if you would be a good candidate.
How long does a treatment take?
This can vary from treatment to treatment, as everyone has different-sized areas they would like to have done. We also keep in mind that everyone’s pace and level of comfort is different, and we want you to be as comfortable as possible during this process. As a general rule, legs and backs will take around an hour to an hour and a half to complete, while smaller areas will take closer to ten minutes. You can always ask about your specific treatment!
Why does it take several sessions to permanently remove the hair?
Hair actually grows in cycles, and it is only in its actively growing phase that the hair has enough pigment to absorb the energy to disable the hair follicle. Everyone has hairs in a dormant phase, and these hairs do not have enough pigment yet to absorb the laser light. As we cycle through, eventually all your hair will be treated in their active phase instead of their dormant phase.
How many treatments will I need?
Most laser companies state that it will take six-to-eight sessions for an area to be totally cleared. However, there are some clients who feel pleased with the results after only four treatments, while a couple people will need one or two more than eight just to be on the safe side.
What causes hair growth?
Excessive hair growth in women often comes from normal biological changes that happen over time, including puberty, pregnancy, menopause, and aging. Each of these changes can lead to hair growth. Certain medical conditions can also lead to excessive hair growth, so consult a doctor if you have experienced a recent change in your hair’s growth patterns.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most patients describe the sensation as a “pinch” that is manageable. This is from the pulsing of the laser. Most of our clients who have undergone stringing, waxing, and electrolysis in the past immediately tell us that the pain is not even close to their previous methods of hair removal. Some people have had negative reactions to hair removal in the past, and we do know that some of the earlier treatments used to be quite painful. Please give us the opportunity to show you how comfortable this technology can be now!
Why is laser hair removal so expensive?
Actually, we don’t think laser hair removal is expensive at all. This is because other methods of hair removal, such as waxing (which is done every four to six weeks), end up costing the same as laser hair removal after just a couple years. However, once you are done with laser hair removal, the effects are extremely long-lasting, if not permanent. Waxing has to continue to be done as long as you want the results! This is an investment that will reward you the sooner you take the plunge.
