How We Do It
Our Method
Consultation
Before undergoing a chemical peel, it is essential to have a consultation with one of our expert estheticians. During the consultation, your skin type and concerns will be evaluated, and the most appropriate type of chemical peel will be recommended.
Types of Chemical Peels
There are two main types of chemical peels we have at The Beauty Method:
Superficial Peel
Also known as a light peel, this involves the use of a mild acidic solution, such as alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), to exfoliate the outer layer of skin. It is best for treating fine lines, mild discoloration, and acne.
Deep Peel
Phenol is used in deep peels to penetrate the middle layer of skin, removing damaged skin cells. This treatment is used for treating severe wrinkles, sun damage, or scars.
The Procedure
On the day of the peel, your skin will be cleaned thoroughly. The chemical solution will then be applied to your skin for a specified period. During this time, you might experience a burning sensation, which usually lasts for about five to ten minutes, followed by a stinging sensation.
Anywhere from 3-5 layers is applied depending on how your skin tolerates the peel.
We will go over all of your post care instructions and what to expect over the next week. Visible peeling can occur and we will guide you through the process.
